Pastor George hails from
an Orthodox Syrian Christian family from Chengannur, Kerala,
India. He became an
atheist at the age of 21. Eleven
years later, at the age of 32, he was
gloriously born again by the
word of God, while he was
an Economics Lecturer in a
college under Bombay
University .
When
he surrendered his life to
Jesus in 1980, he
experienced the light, love
and peace that can come only
from the Living God. He was
empowered by the Holy
Spirit to do ministry in November
1980. In the mid-80s, the
Lord used him to start an
interdenominational prayer group
which eventually became a
church. He joined India Pentecostal Church
(IPC) of God in 1985,
and attended a summer
Bible
school of IPC in Delhi. He
later visited the
late Pastor P.M. Philip of
IPC-Kerala, who prayed and
laid hands on him to send
him into formal
ministry.
Pastor
George resigned from his
teaching career in 1987 to
do full-time ministry. In
November 1989, he came to
the US to do his formal
theological studies.
He started his studies
at the
New Orleans Baptist
Theological Seminary in February 1990,
and was officially
ordained on July 10, 1993. In 1994,
he received his M.Div.
Degree.
He
started
a church under the name
Asian Indian Christian
Church of New Orleans in
1995. For the next
eleven years, he witnessed
Christ to almost all the
Indian families in that
region. However, in
August 2005, Hurricane Katrina
hit and
scattered all the Indian
believers including his
family.
It was
at that time that the Lord led
him to The
Indian Christian Church in
Pontiac, Michigan. He
began ministering there in November
2005. He wanted to be a
blessing to the people of this
region. That
light, peace and love still
powerfully guides him and
leads him in this world of
heartaches and turmoil.
Mission Work in
India
In 1996, God moved through one of
his spiritual
sons in India to stir up in him a desire to do a mission
outreach in India. He started supporting one
brother financially to do a work in Ezhupunna,
near Shertalai. A Crusade was conducted that
year and a small group of people were raised
there by God. That work was registered in June
1997 under the name Indian Christian Mission..
By 1999, twenty ministers were working with ICM.
Today, this Mission is supporting twenty-two
pastors in the four southern States of India;
Kerala, Karnataka, Andrah Pradesh and Maharastra.
He has been visiting these Mission-stations once
an year from 1996. Churches and parsonages
have been built to support this growing
ministry.
This is a Faith-Mission. If God's Spirit moves
in you to be a part of this Mission work or his
church ministry in Pontiac, please feel free to
contact him at [email protected]
